Welcome, Charity Wright!

We’re so excited to welcome our new English teacher, Charity Wright!

After graduating from Michigan State University, Mrs. Wright began teaching High School English. She went on to receive her Master’s degree in Teaching and Curriculum. After receiving her Master’s, Mrs. Wright worked at Henry Ford Community College for nine years teaching English, Linguistics, Creative Writing, and Children’s Literature. In 2014, Mrs. Wright went on to receive her Master’s degree in Education Leadership while also receiving her Administration License.

For the past six years Mrs. Wright taught AP Literature and AP Language as well as several other English classes at a high school level. Mrs. Wright is most excited to discuss her favorite American novel “Their Eyes Were Watching God,” with her new students. She is also looking forward to beginning this new stepping-stone in her teaching journey and being able to share it with her Lutheran Westland students.

Mrs. Wright and her husband Kevin have two children, Blythe and Ben. She enjoys hanging out with them during family dinner and jumping in the river at the Green Docks up North where her mom and sisters live. As lifelong residents of Michigan, the Wright family enjoys the natural wonders of our great State such as traveling to Lake Michigan every summer and beating the waves on Red-Flag Days. They also enjoy blueberry-picking, kayaking, and checking out new shops and restaurants in the small towns dotting the coast.
