Lutheran Westland welcomes Ms. Savannah Diroff to the staff beginning in the fall of 2018. You may know the name already as Ms. Diroff completed part of her student teaching at LHWL in the math department with Mr. and Mrs. Unger.

Ms. Diroff graduated from Concordia University - Ann Arbor where she majored in mathematics and special education - learning disabilities. She also studied a variety of marketing, management, and finance classes, working towards a general business major and a minor in accounting. She also earned her Lutheran Teaching Diploma.

After student teaching at LHWL, Ms. Diroff headed to St. Lorenz Lutheran School in Frankenmuth. She worked in their Student Services classroom which is where students go when they need additional help with school.

At LHWL, Ms. Diroff will be able to use her experience with math, business, and special education to assist students, especially those that need more academic support. Ms. Diroff commented, “I learned a lot from the Student Services classroom at St. Lorenz, and I am definitely looking forward to working with the students at LHWL that have similar needs and could benefit from implementing some of the tools that I was able to see in use in Frankenmuth.”

When asked what she does for fun, Ms. Diroff replied, “I'm a very active person, and I played multiple sports in high school, as well as soccer at Concordia University - Ann Arbor. This spring I am playing soccer with some of my grade & high school friends (and teachers!) in Monroe.”

LHWL is glad to have Ms. Diroff as part of our community!
