Service Day Chaperones
Dear Parents of Lutheran Westland family,
Many of you send your children Lutheran Westland specifically so they get the opportunity to build a closer relationship with Jesus. They get the chance to hear, think, and talk about his love every day in religion classes and chapel/devotions. One of our favorite opportunities to practice our faith is in our annual all-school Service Day!
On Wednesday, April 24, Warrior students and faculty will be devoting a school day to serving others in our community. This will include working at various nonprofits such as FOCUS: Hope, Kids Coalition Against Hunger, Starfish Family Services, AAA Pregnancy Center, Waltonwood, and a couple area grade schools. Students filled out a preference form after chapel Thursday.
Today, though, I’d like to ask your help in these three areas:
Please pray for this day to be successful, and that above all, the name of Christ is glorified.
If you would like to be a chaperone (you should be available from 7:45-2:45 p.m. on Wednesday, April 24), please sign up at Signup.com http://signup.com/go/SLfKxLp or email Jwyly@lhsa.com to sign up. This year, we are sending fewer students to more places, so we could use more chaperones. (You can be paired with a teacher, if you’d like.) Alumni are welcome to volunteer as well!
If you would like to sign up to help with the breakfast, write a Thrivent grant, or shop, or can assist in other ways, please sign up on Signup.com here: http://signup.com/go/SLfKxLp or email jwyly@lhsa.com.
If you have questions, feel free to contact Mrs. Wyly. It is due to your volunteering that this day has run so smoothly in the past. Thanks so much for your help!
