Meet the Seniors!
Congratulations to our wrestlers, Class of 2020!
Ben Bavol
Ben has wrestled all four years at Lutheran Westland and was a team captain for both his junior and senior years. This year Ben was named MVP at the LHWL Invitational. Ben says, “Losing is not the end of your career. Let it motivate you to become better.” Ben also participated in football and track.
Ryan Faith
Ryan is a four-year letter winner in wrestling and has been a captain for the last two seasons. Ryan was 1st team all-conference, and a three-time regional qualifier. He was also the MVP of the Panther Invitational in 2019. Ryan was very happy to overcome injuries from football season so that he was able wrestle his senior year. Ryan also participated in football and baseball.
Ian Gruenhagen
This was Ian’s first year wrestling at Lutheran Westland! Prior to this year, he played basketball for three years. Ian won’t be wrestling in college, however, he looks forward to participating in wrestling in some way in the future. It was an awesome experience for him to experience winning Districts as a team. Ian also participated in cross country and baseball.
Brandon Thacker
Brandon wrestled all four years at Lutheran Westland, and played soccer. He received a letter all four years and was also a team captain for both his junior and senior years. Brandon says, “Wrestling has shaped my life in ways I couldn’t even imagine.”
